Filing a Claim — We’re Here to Help

We know this process can feel stressful. While documentation is required, we’re happy to talk with you anytime. Call us at (260) 600-2275—we want to make this as easy as possible for you and your puppy.

Your puppy’s health is our top priority. If you notice any concerns, contact us immediately by filing a claim. We’re here to guide you every step of the way.

What You’ll Need

To file a claim, please include:

  • Written diagnosis from a licensed veterinarian (within 5 business days of the original diagnosis)
  • Pet insurance claim & Summary of Benefits
  • Related veterinary records
  • Any additional documents Pupworld may request

Important: Claims must be submitted within 30 days of the diagnosis, with all supporting documents included. We’re happy to help you gather any necessary paperwork.

Coverage Timeline

  • Year 1: Claims submitted directly to Pupworld. Your breeder is the primary provider of the Health Guarantee during this time, except for the Prescription Reimbursement Program.
  • Years 2 & 3: Pupworld handles all claims directly.

How We Review Claims

  • We may consult a licensed veterinarian or specialist.
  • In some cases, a second opinion or referral may be required to confirm the diagnosis.

In the Event of Death

If your puppy passes away unexpectedly:

  • A necropsy report (at your expense) confirming the cause of death is required
  • Proof of euthanasia and related veterinary diagnosis must be submitted
  • If approved, Pupworld or the breeder may provide reimbursement or a replacement puppy, depending on the situation

Important Notes

  • Timely submission and complete documentation are critical. Missing deadlines or incomplete records may void your Health Guarantee
  • Review your purchase agreement for full details
  • Vet exam requirement: Your puppy must be seen by a licensed veterinarian within 1 week of pickup to receive reimbursement for necessary veterinary care during the first 14 days

Buyer Responsibilities — Keeping Your Health Guarantee Active

To make sure your Health Guarantee stays active and claims go smoothly, please review the following important responsibilities and limitations. Following these steps helps us support you and your puppy every step of the way.

Breeding Rights

  • Unless explicitly granted in writing at the time of sale, breeding rights are not included.
  • Any unauthorized breeding will void your Health Guarantee.

Veterinary Care & Breed-Specific Needs

  • Choose a veterinarian who understands your puppy’s breed and specific needs.
  • Health Guarantee coverage does not apply to issues caused by improper care or mismanagement of breed-specific treatments or vaccines.

Approved Pet Insurance & Reimbursement

We partner with Trupanion to help you care for your puppy. To be eligible for reimbursement under your Health Guarantee:

  1. File a claim with Trupanion first
  2. Provide Pupworld with Trupanion’s Summary of Benefits (or a Denial of Benefits letter)
  3. Pupworld will review any eligible expenses not covered by Trupanion (excluding deductibles and co-pays)

Important:

  • Claims for health issues identified within the first 14 days must be submitted within that window to be considered.
  • Total reimbursement is subject to Pupworld’s liability limits.

Dispute & Chargeback Policy

  • We want to work with you to resolve any issues.
  • Please contact us first if you have concerns before initiating a chargeback or dispute.
  • Unauthorized or fraudulent chargebacks may be considered a breach of contract and could result in legal action.

Veterinary Provider Restrictions

  • Banfield Pet Hospital is not an approved provider under the Health Guarantee due to ongoing quality-of-care concerns.
  • Please choose a licensed veterinarian experienced with your puppy’s breed and general care standards.

Defamation & Legal Claims

  • We value respectful and professional communication.
  • False claims, online or offline defamation, or slander against Pupworld or your breeder may result in legal action and cancellation of your Health Guarantee.
  • If you have concerns, reach out to us first—we’re happy to help!

Total Liability & Legal Information

Total Liability & Legal Information

At Pupworld, we want you to feel informed and confident about your puppy’s Health Guarantee. This section explains the limits of liability, your rights, and how disputes are handled.

Total Liability Limits

  • Any reimbursement or compensation under this Health Guarantee is limited to the original purchase price of your puppy.
  • This applies to all types of claims, including:
    • Breach of contract
    • Negligence
    • Statutory claims
    • Claims under tort, equity, or other laws
    • Legal costs (attorney fees, expert witnesses, etc.)
  • By accepting this agreement, you agree that the total liability of Pupworld, your Breeder, and their affiliates cannot exceed the price you paid for your puppy.
  • No double recovery: You cannot be reimbursed more than the original purchase price.

Note: Your state may offer additional rights. This Health Guarantee does not override any protections you’re entitled to under local or state laws.

Mandatory Arbitration & Class Action Waiver

Please read carefully—this affects your legal rights.

By purchasing from Pupworld, you agree that any disputes related to your puppy, this Health Guarantee, or your relationship with Pupworld or your Breeder will be resolved through binding individual arbitration, not in court.

What this means:

  • You waive your right to a jury trial
  • You cannot participate in class actions or group claims
  • Arbitration will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under their Consumer Arbitration Rules (www.adr.org)

Scope of Arbitration

This agreement covers disputes related to:

  • This Health Guarantee or prior agreements
  • Advertising, guarantees, or warranties
  • Events that occur after your relationship with Pupworld ends
  • Any legal theory, including fraud, misrepresentation, negligence, or statutory claims

How Arbitration Works

  • Arbitration will generally take place in the county where Pupworld or the Breeder operates
  • Unless both parties agree otherwise, it will be document-only (desk arbitration). A hearing may be scheduled if requested or deemed necessary
  • Both parties are responsible for their own legal costs, including attorneys, witnesses, or experts
  • You may still file claims in Small Claims Court if eligible

Enforcement & Legal Proceedings

  • Any court of competent jurisdiction may enforce or modify an arbitration award
  • If a party fails to comply with arbitration, they are responsible for any legal costs incurred by the other party
  • If arbitration is unenforceable, disputes must be resolved in the state or federal courts where Pupworld or the Breeder operates

Final Terms & Precedence

  • This Health Guarantee is the entire agreement between you, Pupworld, and the Breeder
  • It overrides any other guarantees, promises, or conflicting terms offered separately, unless explicitly modified in writing by Pupworld

Why we present this clearly:
We want you to know your rights and obligations upfront, so you can focus on enjoying your puppy with confidence. While the legal terms are necessary, our primary goal is your puppy’s health and your peace of mind.
