Health Guarantee
There are two important factors at play in our Health Guarantee, and understanding both helps ensure your puppy receives the maximum possible coverage.
VETERINARY EXAM REQUIREMENT — READ FIRST
To be eligible for ANY reimbursement of necessary veterinary care related to unexpected health concerns occurring within the first 14 days after pickup, the Buyer must:
- Have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian
- No later than 7 days after pickup
How Our Health Guarantee Works: Two Layers of Protection
1. Trupanion Insurance Coverage
To be eligible for and to qualify for our Comprehensive Health Guarantee, the Buyer must activate Trupanion medical insurance for their puppy. Coverage must be activated by the new puppy owner no earlier than one (1) day before pickup and no later than one (1) day after pickup. The enrollment link is provided here.
Trupanion offers 30 days of coverage at no cost, with no obligation to continue beyond that period. Activating coverage during this window helps protect your puppy from new, unexpected injuries and illnesses during their critical transition to a new home.
For our Health Guarantee to fully apply, buyers must follow Trupaion’s health guidelines, including timely veterinary exams and preventive care. These guidelines help protect your puppy’s health and allow us to confidently stand behind everything we promise in our coverage.
While we wish this guarantee could protect against every possible illness or unexpected event, life sometimes has other plans. Our Health Guarantee is thoughtfully designed to cover the most important health concerns, without making promises beyond anyone’s control.

2. Health Guarantee at Pickup & Beyond (outside of Trupanion)
This section explains how our Health Guarantee applies at the time of pickup, including coverage for your puppy’s initial transition home. This guarantee also serves as the foundation of our 10-Year Congenital Warranty, which is designed to support your dog’s long-term health. In addition to insurance coverage, Pupworld stands behind every puppy we place. Our Health Guarantee covers certain health-related expenses outside of what Trupanion may cover, provided all requirements are met.

Important Clarification
Enrollment in Trupanion is not required to receive reimbursement for necessary veterinary care for an unexpected health issue that occurs within the first 14 days after pickup, provided the issue is outside of both your control and ours.
However, the veterinary exam within 7 days of pickup is required in order to be eligible for any reimbursement under our Health Guarantee.
While Trupanion enrollment is optional, we highly recommend activating the free 30 days of coverage to receive the maximum level of protection for your puppy during their transition to a new home.
10-Year Congenital Warranty Coverage Overview
While we wish this guarantee could protect against every possible illness or unexpected event, life Year 1 of your puppy’s Health Guarantee is provided directly by your Breeder.
Years 2 & 3 are covered exclusively by Pupworld, excluding any pre-existing conditions, diagnoses, or related claims.
To the best of the Breeder’s knowledge, your puppy is healthy and in sound condition at the time of sale and prior to leaving the Breeder’s care. All puppies are current on vaccinations at the time of scheduled delivery.
Please note: If you choose to use your own ground transportation service, the First 14 Days of the Health Guarantee will be voided. Puppies are especially vulnerable during travel, and we require them to be transported with the highest standards of care to protect their health.

10-Year Congenital Warranty — Summary of Terms
This warranty must be purchased at checkout in order to apply.
At Pupworld, we take great care to ensure your puppy is healthy when they leave us, and our Health Guarantee is here to offer peace of mind should an unexpected health concern arise.
This guarantee applies to the original purchaser only and covers puppies delivered to and continuously residing in the continental United States. Any included or optional pet insurance works alongside this guarantee to provide added protection.
The First 72 Hours
If your puppy is diagnosed with a serious, contagious, or life-threatening illness within the first 72 hours after pickup, we will help cover documented veterinary treatment costs—up to the original purchase price, after any applicable insurance coverage.
Parasites identified during a routine fecal exam are covered through our Prescription Reimbursement Program.
Days 4–14 After Pickup
If a life-threatening illness is diagnosed within the first 14 days after pickup and confirmed through appropriate testing, we continue to support you with reimbursement for necessary veterinary care, up to the original purchase price, after insurance coverage.
Veterinary Exam Requirement:
To be eligible for reimbursement during this 14-day period, the Buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian no later than one (1) week after pickup. This exam is required to receive reimbursement for necessary veterinary care should anything outside of both your control and ours occur during this time.
Certain serious blood-borne parasites may also be covered through our Prescription Reimbursement Program.
Your Puppy’s First Month
Your puppy’s pet insurance becomes active during this time. We strongly encourage maintaining coverage as your puppy continues adjusting to their new home and their immune system develops.
The First Year
If, within your puppy’s first year, two licensed veterinarians diagnose a hereditary or congenital condition that significantly affects quality of life (excluding breed-specific conditions), we will stand by you.
At our discretion, we will offer either:
- A replacement puppy of equal value, or
- Reimbursement for documented veterinary treatment, up to the original purchase price
A written veterinary report must be submitted to Pupworld within 5 days of diagnosis and before treatment begins to ensure eligibility.
Years Two & Three
If a qualifying hereditary or congenital condition is diagnosed between your puppy’s first and third birthday, you may receive:
- A credit toward another puppy (up to 50% of the original purchase price, based on treatment costs), or
- Reimbursement of up to 25% of the original purchase price
(Bulldog breeds are excluded from this portion of the guarantee.)
Extended Peace of Mind — Up to 10 Years
If you selected our Extended Health Guarantee at checkout, coverage may continue beyond Year Three—up to your puppy’s 10th birthday, depending on the option chosen.
